find the income idea that fits your hours. then test it in 14 days.
The Income Fit Test, for women building something of their own. Most side-hustle lists tell you what exists. This kit works out what fits your week, costs it with the unpaid hours included, and walks you through a small real-world test before you spend money on it.
Six tools, used in order
Fit Finder
Seventeen short questions about your real week, priced in your own currency: hours, the longest block you get, evenings, budget, car, contact you're comfortable with, skills. It filters out what can't fit, says why, and ranks the rest on lifestyle fit, readiness and commercial strength.
23 Opportunity Cards
One page per option, researched in Australia with notes for the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand: who pays, how you reach them, real costs and fees, rules and checks, rates labelled fact, estimate or unknown, and a cheap first test.
Reality Calculator
Three modes, for services, products and assets. It counts unpaid admin hours, fees and capacity, so you see your real hourly return before you start.
AI Shortcut System
Twelve copy-and-paste workflows for ChatGPT or Claude, each with an example answer, a do-it-by-hand alternative and a privacy note. Every prompt forbids invented demand, prices and competitors.
14-Day Test Plan
One page a day: an objective, a few steps, one output. Days 9–12 are real conversations and a small, honest sales test. Miss a day and you just carry on.
Go / No-Go Scorecard
Four possible verdicts: Next test, Adjust, Stop, or Insufficient evidence. It won't tell you to go ahead because an idea felt nice. Someone has to show buying interest first.
Also included: a Start Here guide and Rules Guides for Australia, the US, the UK, Canada and New Zealand: registering, tax, thresholds, records, insurance, benefits and free help, each answer linked to the official page we checked in October 2026. A map, not advice.
A sample Fit Finder result
Example profile: former office professional, 10 hours a week in 2-hour blocks, no evenings, remote only, calls are fine, A$150 to start, in Australia. This is an example, not a prediction for you.
| Rank | Option | Score of 36 | Main reason it may fail |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Email flows and copy for small e-commerce brands | 34 | Crowded at the bottom; you need one proof point to charge properly |
| 2 | Resume, LinkedIn and selection-criteria writing | 33 | AI tools are eroding the budget tier; income is lumpy |
| 3 | Virtual assistant to online business manager | 32 | Offshore price competition; clients wanting replies outside your hours |
Each result also shows its weak points, the start-up money needed, weeks to a first dollar, and one inexpensive first test. A strong fit means it suits your circumstances. It does not mean customers will pay. That's what the 14 days are for.
what you charge isn't what you keep.
Illustrative example from the calculator: a service at $45 an hour, 5 hours a week, 2 unpaid admin and marketing hours, 80% of the billable time sold, costs included. Before personal income tax. Your numbers will differ.
It's for you if
- You have somewhere between 3 and 15 hours a week: school hours, around a job, or whatever your week allows
- You want something that uses your skills, not only your time
- You'd rather find out cheaply than commit to a course, a stock order or a franchise
- You live in the US, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand (anywhere else works too; the rules guides cover those five)
It won't
- Promise an income. Nobody honestly can
- Sell you an MLM, a resell-rights kit or dropshipping
- Replace an accountant, a lawyer or your tax office
- Do the conversations for you. They're the part that matters
you shape what we build next
The kit is written, tested and dated, and it's yours the moment you pay. Founding members get the US$19 price, an invitation to the founding rate of the Her Little Empire membership, every update to this version free, and a short question after Day 14: which part should we expand next? The most-asked answer becomes the next update.
What software do I need?
A spreadsheet app and a PDF reader. The workbook is built for Excel and its formulas were tested with the LibreOffice engine. Apple Numbers and Google Sheets haven't been tested yet, so use Excel or the free LibreOffice if anything looks wrong.
I've never used ChatGPT or Claude. Is that a problem?
No. There's a first-time page, and every workflow has a way to do the same step by hand.
What if none of the 23 options fit me?
The Fit Finder will say so instead of forcing a match, and it shows which constraint is ruling things out. If that happens, a refund is fair and you can have one.
How do refunds work?
Full refund within 14 days of buying, no reason needed. Reply to your receipt email. This sits alongside your consumer rights where you live, which it doesn't limit.
Will I pay tax on top?
Depending on where you live, sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout, as the law requires. Checkout shows the final price before you pay.
What's the membership?
Optional. After Day 14 you're invited to join: a new practical kit each month, a 14-day challenge we run together, the tools and country rules kept current, and a members' space. Founding buyers get the founding rate. Cancel any time in one click. The kit is complete without it.
Is this financial advice?
No. It's educational. It helps you gather your own evidence and make your own decision.
